This weekend is the celebration of Easter and Passover! Passover begins at sundown on Friday, and Easter is celebrated on Sunday. This holiday season is a great time to be with family, and an even better time to cook!  A very popular Easter tradition that has to do with food, but not eating, is decorating Easter eggs.  This is a fun, family-friendly tradition that can be enjoyed by all!  When it comes to dinner, Ham and Lamb are very popular selections for any family dinner!

The Passover Seder, the first meal of Passover, is traditionally celebrated with a plate containing six different items.  These items are bitter herbs, lettuce, fruit and nuts, a vegetable, a roasted lamb or goat bone, and a roasted egg.  Each item holds its own symbolic meaning to the story of Exodus from Egypt, including the three slices of matzo on a separate plate.  Today’s Passover Seder differs from family to family, but this is the traditional plate!
