Valentine’s Day!

Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day!  Every year on February 14, loved ones exchange gifts such as candy, flowers, and jewelry.  But what is the history behind this holiday?  One story comes to us from Rome.  Valentine was a priest who served in Rome during the third century.  Emperor Claudius II decided that soldiers who were not married and did not have kids, made for better warriors. With this being his belief, he outlawed marriage for young men.  Valentine did not agree with this decree, so he decided to hold weddings for young couples in secret, despite what the Emperor had to say.  Today, this holiday is often celebrated by couples going out to dinner where most restaurants hold a Valentine’s day special menu.  One problem with this is that if you wait too long to get a reservation, you may be out of luck.  But wait!  There are some great meals you can make to impress that special someone with a great home cooked meal!  Here are some ideas to make Valentine’s Day special right from your kitchen!
