National Roast Suckling Pig Day takes place on December 18th. A whole roasted pig is a symbol of a huge festival. This fancy meal takes a lot of time to prepare. Almost an entire day of roasting is required in order to be able to enjoy a suckling pig in observance of National Roast Suckling Pig Day. Even though it is not quite Christmas, it gives people yet another day to celebrate and to get into the holiday spirit.
Quaker Valley Foods carries a variety of sizes of whole pigs. Sizes range from 10 -130 pounds; however, most ovens at home can only fit a pig up to 20 pounds. A 20 pound roast pig would be more than enough to feed a family of 20 people. Check out the recipes below for a delicious roast pig that can be made at home for the holidays!
