National Scrapple Day!

Tomorrow, November 9, is National Scrapple Day!  Scrapple is a true Philadelphian dish – the first recipes were created near Philadelphia and Chester County by German settlers. It can be traced back to as early as the 17th century. Scrapple usually consists of pork offal, which is the parts of the pig that aren’t typically sold as cuts. There are many ways to prepare scrapple – including pan frying, deep frying, and even broiling – and even more ways to serve it.

Quaker Valley is proud to carry this local “delicacy.” We have pork and turkey scrapple, both retail ready! You can view our scrapple selection in our online catalog here. We also carry the ingredients for scrapple for those who make their own! Check out our offal offerings in our online catalog as well.
