Steve Brunell boasts over 25 years seafood experience. While going to college, Steve began cutting fish at a local supermarket (Pathmark). He then went to work for shrimp and seafood importers before joining Quaker Valley Foods in 2005. Steve likes working with retailers realize that better branding sells better. He uses his retail fish cutting experience to help retailers realize what their cost is on buying a whole fish versus buying a fish already filleted/steaked. Steve brought the Wholey and Great Fish line to the company to offer better branding options to our customers. Steve is one of our West African specialists and is primarily responsible for purchasing over 1,000,000 pounds of Croakers each year!
In his spare time, he spends a lot of time watching his two children play soccer or taking them to goalkeeper practice. His son’s team just won a National Championship called the President’s Cup and his daughter played in International play in Barcelona, Spain. He and his family work with an animal Rescue. He owns 4 dogs and three cats, but has fostered over 20 dogs.
